Light Through the Trees

Light Through the Trees started as a question. A young poet friend on a hike broke the silence by sharing that he was searching for words to describe the light through the trees. All the usual words came to my mind: filtered, dappled…. Then it became a challenge to write music.
I intentionally wrote silences into this piece.
This is another piece from “A Walk in the Mountains” (Link)
Harpists may interpret these as they like. My performance is not very metric. You may interpret the score your own way! I was very moody when recording this one. It was raining.
Also, on the repeat of page one I took a several measures up an octave. I liked that effect.
